ABOUT ME
Experienced Business Analyst
I have been IT for over 30 years now, where I started as a Cobol programmer. I first used Windows in the late 80’s at the same time as learning C and Unix scripting. I spent several years at NCR where I started as a Unix trainer. I was quickly taken on by the Cooperation project, which was an all singing system based on HP New Wave. I spent some time working at NCR’s Columbia, South Carolina plant, where Cooperation was based.
My family were lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to move to Waterloo, Ontario to work at NCR’s plant there. I started to work on back end systems and developed using JavaScript. After 5 years, and gaining Canadian citizenship, we returned to the UK.
I worked on many projects involving business process management systems travelling all over the UK. Eventually I moved my focus to consulting and spent several years at Capgemini, Siemens Business Systems, where I trained up in Identity and Access Management. I was also lucky enough to work on some fascinating biometrics projects. While at Atos I was able to gain the System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) qualification.
On leaving Atos I decided to pool my experience and skills and move into the world of Business Analysis. My first role was with a mature Agile organisation, where I was taught the Agile Methodology, and used it day to day through the Sprint lifecycle. I have been a Business Analyst for 6 years and a contractor for 5.
